Why, in a South Africa where the equality of its citizens is key and constitutional, is 42 year-old copyright laws still observed, making reproduction of reading and learning material into accessible formats a crime? The South African Constitution – section 9(2) states: “Equality includes the full and equal enjoyment of all rights and freedoms”.
