We are so proud of Blind SA’s president, Cathy, who was selected as a finalist for Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government for the category of Welfare and Civil Society Organisations.

This recognition of influential African leaders took place at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand on 28 July 2015. CEO
Communications announced the women being recognised for Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government and the men being recognised for Titans – Building Nations, in their various economic
sectors across Africa. The breakfast was attended by top business executives and government officials, which made for an excellent audience as well as great networking opportunities. These events aim to celebrate the achievements of women and men for their work in advancing African economies and communities — something we at Blind SA are honoured to be a part of.

  1. I am not blind and i dont personally know anyone close to me or my family who is blind. I am so much interested in helping to bridge this gap between blind people and non blind. I would like to be part of the blind SA Association. I am a student but i see a lot of blind people in and around Johannesburg begging for money, and are with their siblings who had to give up on their dreams to help their blind brothers or sisters on their daily routines. For quite sometime now this has been bothering me. I would like to help.
    Please kindly advice
